Llewellyn or Llew is an adventure enthusiast, rock climbing guide and mountaineer hailing from the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand!
From a young age Llewellyn was drawn to the power and beauty of nature and all its changing environments. This was how Llewellyn found climbing and how he fell in love with it. As a professional guide Llewellyn has worked in many outdoor roles in New Zealand and as a alpine/rock guide in the USA.
Llewellyn has a good eye for picking the right challenges, looking after clients to the highest degree and leading the charge!
Llewellyn's personal climbing focuses on climbing long and varied routes. It doesn't matter what the grade is,for Llewellyn quality is what counts.
Llewellyn has climbed technical alpine climbs and rock routes extensively throughout New Zealand and overseas. Expeditions to Ruth Gorge/Alaska, Chugach Range/Alaska, Patagonia/Argentina, Madagascar and Miyar Valley/Indian Himalaya as well as alpine, big wall and rock climbing in USA, Europe and Australia.
In 2017 Llewellyn and team mates on the "2017 NZAC Miyar Valley expedition" we awarded the "New Zealand Mountaineers of the year award" for their ascent of repeat of a route on Neverseen tower.
Growing up in Perth, West Australia Dan worked in Outdoor Education for a few years taking rock climbing, kayaking and bushwalking trips.Dan soon discovered snow and ice in New Zealand and was hooked on being in the mountains.Dan enjoys sharing peak experiences with people in the wilderness and so moved to NZ in 2008 to work on the ski hills and glaciers. Dan has previously worked for the Mount Cook Alpine Search and Rescue as a team leader, Mt Hutt Ski Patrol as a snow safety officer and Aspiring guides as a climbing and ski guide. He has also spent time climbing in Europe as well as Ski Patrolling and Cat Ski guiding in Canada.
The mountains are his life and Dan is a passionate skier and rock climber. In his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing and 4WD-ing in his big red 60 series Landcruiser called 'Helga'.
Originally from Australia Jess has found her base in Wanaka. She has been working in the outdoor industry for more than 10 years and holds NZOIA Rock 2, Alpine 1 and Bush 1 qualifications. Nowadays her main employment is in management however she still spends her summers part time guiding and instructing rock climbing and tramping guiding. Jess's passion is rock climbing, spending much of her free time on the rock and in the mountains. Jess has a relaxed and caring manner with her clients and enjoys passing on knowledge to aspiring climbers.
